BULLS rip Pilgrims
The Batangas Bulls have scored a total of 33 runs in their last 14 innings, but perhaps more impressively, they also have not given up a single run or committed a single error in that span. What does that mean for the rest of the league? Trouble – lots of it.
The Bulls crushed the Antipolo Pilgrims 19-0 in last Sundays game; sending the boys from Antipolo to their second consecutive loss.
Batangas started out where they left off the day before. They scored 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning when Vio Roxas doubled in two runs during the 3rd at bat of the ball game. Two singles and a triple later, the game was at 5-0.
The very next inning, things didn’t get any better for the Antipolo Pilgrims. Teddy Landicho and Randy de Leon both got on base to lead off the inning, after which Roxas lifted the 3rd pitch thrown to him over the left field wall, making the score 8-0. The Bulls followed with 5 more hits in the inning to make the score 12-0.
By this time the game had already looked all but over. Antipolo were struggling to get on base against Vlad Eguia, who has pitched 8 innings in two games, without giving up a run.
To add injury to insult, the Bulls scored once again in the 4th inning, and plated 6 more in the top of the 7th.
The Bulls must be feeling good about themselves after their last two games, considering that both their offense and defense have been tremendous. As for the rest of the league, they can only hope that Batangas comes down to earth soon.
