Fil-Am Friendship Day on Sunday

Baseball Philippines honors the country’s friendship with the United States with fun-filled activities and exhibition games in the Fil-Am Friendship Day on Sunday, July 8 at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

No less than United States Ambassador to the Philippines Harry K. Thomas will be the special guest of the event organized by Community Sports Inc. in celebrating the storied friendship between both countries.

Commissioner Jolly Gomez of the Philippine Sports Commission will also grace the event to give his opening remarks.

The highlight of the event is the clash between the league’s All-Star players against the Philippine national team, which is preparing for the World Baseball Classic qualifiers this November, at 11:30 a.m.

An exhibition game between the Philippine Barakos and the Smokey Mountain team along with fun games are also on tap in the affair which starts at 8:30 a.m.

Kids will also be treated with a youth clinic with different coaches and Baseball Philippines All-Stars right after the exhibition games.

The event is sponsored by Gatorade, Junior Baseball and Softball Foundation of the Philippines, JCI Manila, Emperador Light, Clark Development Corporation, Smokey’s Sausages, San Miguel Foods, Harbour Center, PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Amateur Baseball Association and the Philippine Umpires Association.
